Firewatch
I used to be a relatively enthusiastic "gamer", but over the past couple of years or so, I have found myself slowly falling more and more out of that circle. With regards to new releases, consoles and what's generally happening in the world of gaming, my finger is well and truly off the pulse these days. I'm not too upset about this, however, my wallet (and girlfriend) are very happy that I'm not into the big consoles anymore.
This recently changed when I came across (and suddenly became very excited about) Firewatch from Campo Santo.
I felt the same when I first saw Firewatch as I did when I first found Rust. From the second that I saw the Firewatch trailer, I knew that I needed to play it. I wasn't disappointed. The same applies to Super Meat Boy (thanks Jasper), and the beautifully designed Fez. All of these games have been incredible fun to play and I find myself going back to them time and time again. With Firewatch, this old feeling of need came back and in a weird and unfamiliar way, I'd missed it... nothing gaming wise has grasped me like that in a long time.
I have pretty much come to the conclusion that any collaboration with the incredible Panic team. Panic are the creators of Coda and Transmit, my "go to" web development tools for many, many years. I've tried other software of the same ilk but never seemed to get along with it so I always end up back in the comforting arms of Coda.
According to the Firewatch website, the game is potentially being released in 2015 and it can't come soon enough for me.
