Deaf Pigeon is my own personal fixed gear blog. I created it initially as somewhere that i could collect and post all of the fixed gear bike related content that i liked, but since it's launch, it has grown quite large and has recently had a complete design and backend overhaul.
The Deaf Pigeon team have put on a few races and events, so i've designed the posters for these and i also made an info-graphic that showcased our entire 2011. You can download this PDF here (385kb).
Deaf Pigeon now contains quite a bit of new stuff including t-shirts, foot straps and stickers. Plus, because it's a blog, it is constantly being updated on a daily basis so please go check it out and let me know what you think.
Urban Cyclery asked me to design and build them a full online web shop to sell all of their bikes, parts, components, accessories and clothing. They previously had an online shop but it wasn't scalable and didn't have the back office technology that they wanted/needed.
This is the site that i created for them and i also created them a new blog for all the recent news and events that come from the shop.
I created this website for the newly opened dental clinic at UCLan. This was a project that i completed working at the University of Central Lancashire. They requested a website that would show off all the newly installed facilities and all the equipment that they had in house.
I created them a website with a scrolling 360 degree panorama on the homepage which highlights their 10 chair training clinic used for the dentistry students at the University of Central Lancashire.
I was asked by one of the organisers of Hacknorth to create a logo/brand for the event and this is what i came up with.
Unfortunately, this concept was never used and the event didn't happen (to my knowledge), but it's still one of my favourite logo concept designs that i've created.
Cassie Lomas is a celebrity makeup artist. She has opened a brand new makeup academy based in the trendy Northern Quarter of Manchester.
When she asked me to create her entire branding, website, some invitations for the grand opening, her academy prospectus and other things.
I am currently in the middle of designing her course brochure and student folders.
One of my favourite projects to date. I was invited by a couple of friends to help create a magazine promoting positive messaging. I designed the layout for the magazine, the logo and created the website/blog to run alongside it.
Because of the backlash and problems caused by this project/idea the website never actually launched and because i can't really explain what happened with it, lets just leave it with these images and pictures of the work and enjoy them.

The River Raft Club was something that me and my friends put together last summer. We found a raft type vessel on the River near us in Preston and we commandeered it for summer fun. It was our 'go to' place when the sun was out.
The plan was to get some t-shirts made up but this never happened unfortunately. Since this time, the raft has disappeared. Maybe because of the rain, maybe because of vandals? Hopefully this can happen next year when the sun comes out again.
I’ve been going into Winckleys pretty much everyday for the past 2 years or so and they never cease to amaze me and my coffee tastebuds.
They asked me to create them a poster to show promote their bi-annual Tweed ride out. I've not had the chance to design much print work recently so this was a welcome change to the norm for me and gave me the opportunity to use a typeface from the Lost Type Co-op. I really do love those guys!
This one is called the Winter Warmer and it’s sure to be a good one. Come ride bikes and wear tweed.
Cheshire based, bespoke cushion manufacturer MacOjay got in touch with me and asked me to create them an online shop to sell their handmade products. They had some very specific ideas and wants from their shop and this is what i created for them.
Their products are all amazing, and these photo's just don't do them justice. They're huge and so comfy. If you're interested in getting one, head on over to their site (link below) and buy one.
I've been wanting to do the design for a tree surgeon/gardening company for years. I've had so many cool ideas in my head for something in that industry.
When my friend decided to set his own company up doing gardening and asked me to design his brand and website i was properly in the mood. I love how the shovel and branch cutters cross-over to form an 'A'. Along with the crossed tools, i thought that i should stick to a nice forest type green for the main colour this would then keep the whole branding quite simple.
Local band Elohymn, asked me to design them a new t-shirt and some artwork that would also double as their new 'brand' for promotion when they had finished recording their new album.
To run alongside their newly designed "branding" they wanted a full EP/Album cover designed. They've just released this CD to the public which you can buy from their bandcamp now.
I am a 25 year old multi-disciplined freelance designer currently residing in the sunny, northern town of Preston. I used to go by the pseudo-name / web alias, ‘Planetperki’, but decided to change this recently to something a little more professional.
I’ve been obsessed with great design and cool looking artwork since i can remember… I started practicing graphic design about 12 years ago and i’ve been working within the industry for the past 6 of those.
I’ve worked in print based design agencies, purely website design agencies and most recently, within the education sector where i’ve gained experience working on enterprise class content management systems.
With all of the experience that i've collected over the years, i can offer you and your project website, graphic, and other forms of visual design, including creation of identity, branding and print based artwork/media that will work exactly how you want it to.
I've found that my specialism lies with in clean, minimal and usable website design & front-end development. This doesn't mean that i can't do print based artwork, head over to my portfolio and take a look for yourself.
I strive to develop solutions with properly organised markup that conforms to current web standards. Completely valid and up to date CSS and HTML are always a big priority with the websites that i produce and my design is always visually appealing.
